I think List of Unsolved Missing Child Cases might top that.

I don’t want to hear your “objective analysis”.

IDK, that I had to scroll wheel 22 TIMES (I counted) to get through the first table really brought it home for me

250 deaths in 105 YEARS? So high speed racing on tight rock-lined streets is safer than, say, swimming in your backyard?

*Note to self, never go to a pool party at Jaguars house.

With 7000 drownings a year, maybe you shouldn’t. But you’ll have to quit doing a lot of other things like driving or going to hospitals.

Stick to safer activities like flying, being a racecar driver, shooting with your kids, and surfing near sharks.

Ok, since you came back:

A) Why are you comparing this to other things? Did I once say it was too dangerous? I simply noted that the wikipedia entry was constructed in a way that was personally depressing.

B) I think at least a few more people per year go swimming than compete at IOM, so not really sure how you think that’s a fair point.

I just don’t see the numbers as that remarkable. I’ve watched these guys go flying by rock walls at crazy speeds, and it’s obviously an inherently dangerous activity, but a couple hundred deaths over more than a century doesn’t seem out of line.

Ok. Let me reiterate. I said it was depressing. I didn’t say it was hard to believe, or wrong, or more dangerous than any other activity.

These are interesting statistics, but I just can’t mentally grasp how you have a fatal incident on a parade lap.....
